At it’s core, when we learn how to meditate, we are essentially bringing ourselves into the present moment. Sometimes our mind will run away to somewhere other then the present moment.
Have you lost sight of your hope? Do you wonder how you are going to make it through each day? If so, you are not alone.
Many times in my life, I’ve been faced with some really difficult situations and circumstances. They’ve made me feel incredible anxious, stressed and worried.
In lesson two of Bob Proctors program, he cites the Indian saint Vivecananda, who lived over hundred years ago, with the words:
Take a young man from a wealthy family, strip him of all of his money until he finds himself homeless and has to beg on the street, hold him in a cell as a prisoner of war in a foreign land, and turn his family against him and what are the odds you would give for him to impact the world?
There is a firm belief, especially in oriental societies that information passed from elders is substantial and precise. It has been nurtured profoundly and systematically in their life. The lacks of formal education, and vast majority ignorant people have affected their line of thinking since childhood. Their roots have become strong and rigid, and their outlook reflects rudeness. They have become stubborn and they refuse to accept logical and conclusive evidence against their belief.
Even the most confident of us appreciate some support from time to time. A smile, a nod, a quiet word can lift our mood in tense situations, maybe introduce a little humour and improve our perspective. Support can lift our spirits, motivate us to continue or simply alleviate stress at difficult times.
If you feel that you need something amazing to happen in your life then it is your time to make it happen. Refuse to sit back and watch your dreams dwindle away into the air. It is time for you to live your life the way that you deserve to live it. It is time for you to make it happen! Your goals and dreams not happening for you is no longer an option!
Funny how you grow and change as time goes by. It’s more interesting how the Lord has a way of allowing us to be exposed for who we really are in spite of ourselves. I was thinking recently about the state of my life and all the change that has taken place for me in ministry over the last few months. It was then that I suddenly realized something. I had the wrong idea of what true Christ like peace was supposed to be. At one time I thought real peace was having all the bills paid or being able to spend a couple of hundred dollars on clothes. I thought it was having that special someone or being cool with my girls. I thought real peace was having a job that was secure or validation from my church leadership. But in the process of maturation I found out that isn’t true peace just a false sense of security I created for myself.
Sliding down the familiar root system from the bright light of midday in the middle world, into the dusky dimness of a foggy morning in the Otherworld, was at first a relief, then suddenly painful as a flood of light crashed directly into my eyes. For a moment it blinded me like headlights suddenly appearing around a curve on a deserted night-time highway, then I dropped onto the shores of the crystal clear blue lake where I’d been many times before. I stripped off my clothes, ran into the water and swam like a dolphin playing, eyes open to its cool healing powers.
